Transferable to your own wallet
Self-custody of cryptocurrencies plays an important role for many users who want to manage their cryptocurrencies and thus their "private keys" themselves and not leave them in the hands of the exchange. Most exchanges offer the option of sending the purchased cryptocurrencies to their own wallet.
Deposit protection is a safeguard for the assets of users of a stock exchange or broker, which is intended to protect investors in the event of insolvency or a high loss due to a hacker attack. Service providers based in Germany are legally obliged to provide deposit protection of €100,000. In some cases, international exchanges have a special insurance policy that covers a certain portion of the assets instead of a deposit guarantee.
The overall rating is the average of our individual ratings. Our ratings do not constitute investment advice, but merely our personal opinion. You are welcome to use them as rough indicators and additional perspective. In the dynamic and fast-growing crypto sector, parameters can often change from one day to the next, so we cannot guarantee that the rating data is up to date. Therefore, please never use our ratings as an isolated basis for decision-making and not as a substitute for your own research.
This rating describes our personal assessment of the user-friendliness of the product. How easy is the onboarding process? How modern is the user interface and is it easy to use? Are all the important functions quick and easy to find? We ask ourselves all these questions in order to give a personal rating from 1 to 10 points.
This rating describes our assessment of the fee structure of a stock exchange or broker. It is not only the amount of fees that can differ, but also the type of fees. The most common type of fees for crypto exchanges are the "maker/taker" fees or spreads. In some cases, there are also hidden fees that are not recognizable to users at first glance.
For products or services in the crypto space, trust and security should be the biggest factors in the selection process. Since we could not seriously evaluate the technical security of a platform or product, we analyze publicly available factors such as security features, location, regulation, certifications, audits, team/company, general reputation and, of course, track record.
Crypto doesn't have to be cryptic. Especially for beginners, the first contact with the crypto world can be overwhelming. With this rating, we give our assessment of how easy it is for beginners to find their way around: from the onboarding process to using the most important functions.
Customer support is an important factor for many users. A long wait or no response at all in the event of problems can be frustrating, especially when it comes to sensitive topics such as finances. With this rating, we give our assessment of the quality of customer support. In order to provide as balanced an assessment as possible, we also include user opinions from other platforms in our evaluation.
Some exchanges and brokers are regulated by financial supervisory authorities in certain countries/states. This often entails strict financial regulatory requirements and compliance requirements to which the company must adhere. Regulatory clarity can contribute to greater transparency and thus also greater trustworthiness.

MEXC operates a web platform along with apps for iOS and Android. App users have rated it favorably: in Apple's US App Store, the iOS app holds a rating of 4.74 out of 5 from 8,409 ratings, in the German App Store it has 4.68 out of 5 from 3,273 ratings, and on Google Play, the Android app shows 4.6 out of 5 from 313K reviews and has more than 10M downloads. In our view the interface is built for people who trade often. A single account provides access to spot and futures trading, copy trading, grid and DCA bots, Earn products, and Convert. The charts feature TradingView integration. Demo trading allows users to practice futures orders with virtual funds before risking real money. This setup requires some time to master initially. For beginners, the Buy Crypto and Convert screens offer a straightforward starting point, while the more advanced trading tools can be explored after understanding the basics.
In our view, range is what sets MEXC apart. Its public spot API lists 1,501 coins in 1,900 active pairs, including 16 pairs against the euro, and its futures market has 1,207 contracts on crypto, stocks, and commodities. MEXC's own figure of more than 3,000 tradable assets is higher because it also counts products beyond spot. MEXC says its matching engine handles 1.4 million transactions per second. The platform offers features such as copy trading, spot grid and futures grid bots, recurring DCA purchases, Earn, Loans, P2P trading, RealStocks, Stock Futures, Pre-Market, On-Chain, Launchpad, Meme+, and MEXC AI. Event Futures introduce short-term contracts on whether a coin's price will move up or down within a set time. Leverage comes through futures contracts rather than through margin on spot. We rate MEXC's functions highly for that breadth, allowing an active trader to move between spot, futures, copy trading, and bots without leaving the account.
MEXC offers newer traders multiple learning avenues. Demo trading provides practice with virtual funds, while recurring DCA purchases spread out buying over time. Copy trading allows users to mimic the trades of a chosen lead trader, who takes a profit share of 10% by default. The Buy Crypto page accommodates Visa and Mastercard cards, bank transfers, and Apple Pay. Before engaging with MEXC's products, KYC is necessary, and the initial level requires just a photo of an identity document. We believe newcomers should be cautious with leverage, as futures trading with up to 500x leverage on BTC shares the same account as spot trading. At this leverage, even minor price movements can close a position. For those primarily interested in an easy first purchase, we rate Coinbase and Bitpanda a little higher for beginners. Bitpanda also holds a licence under MiCAR. Our crypto exchanges for beginners list includes more options.
Low trading fees are a big part of MEXC's appeal in our view. On BTC/USDT, makers incur a 0% fee and takers a 0.05% fee for spot trading, while BTCUSDT perpetual futures have a 0% maker fee and a 0.02% taker fee. A special offer known as 0-Fee Fest eliminates fees on selected spot and futures pairs, and using MEXC's MX token to pay spot fees grants an extra discount. The fees vary across pairs: out of 1,900 active spot pairs, 250 impose no taker fee, 1,110 apply a 0.08% fee, and 200 impose a 0.2% fee. Deposits of BTC and USDT are free, while withdrawal fees are fixed and detailed by MEXC for each coin and network. For instance, a Bitcoin withdrawal costs 0.00002 BTC on the Bitcoin network or 0.000001 BTC via Lightning. We rate MEXC's fees highly, especially on BTC/USDT, where a limit order that waits in the order book pays no fee. Our compilation of crypto exchanges with the lowest fees shows how MEXC compares.
We rate MEXC's reserve reporting as a clear plus. MEXC provides a monthly proof of reserves, utilizing a Merkle tree structure, and this is supported by an audit report from Hacken, accessible via the proof-of-reserves page. In the latest snapshot, reserves covered 119% of user USDT, 111% of USDC, 297% of BTC and 111% of ETH, so each of these four assets was backed by more than the users' balances. Accounts support two-factor authentication, and MEXC maintains a Guardian Fund for platform issues alongside a futures insurance fund for extreme market moves. These funds are MEXC's own and do not constitute deposit insurance. According to MEXC, it has not experienced any major security breaches or thefts since its inception in 2018. A snapshot reflects holdings on a specific day, and in our view it is one indicator among several. The ratios and audit report are publicly available for your review before opening an account. Licensing details are included in a separate section below.
MEXC provides detailed information about its account rules. The help centre describes each KYC level along with its respective withdrawal limit, while the Learn section offers guides on deposits, withdrawals, and the profit-share rules of copy trading. The About page identifies the chief executive as Vugar Usi, and Robert MacDonald as the chief compliance officer. The user agreement is concluded with "MEXC Trading Platform", governed by the laws of England and Wales, and requires disputes to be arbitrated at the HKIAC. In our view the documentation is thorough. If you're considering maintaining larger balances on the exchange, examine the dispute clause of the user agreement first.
Our verdict: MEXC is one of the highest-rated exchanges on Exchange Flow, and in our view it earns that place with range and price. Active traders benefit from 1,501 coins, enjoy low fees on main trading pairs, and access futures with high leverage. The platform also provides copy trading and bots within a single account, plus a monthly proof of reserves in which reserves exceeded user balances in USDT, USDC, BTC and ETH. Those newer to trading can take advantage of demo trading and copy trading. If simplicity is your priority, we rate Coinbase and Bitpanda a little higher for beginners. For everyone else in the countries MEXC serves, we think it is a strong pick for active trading: check the fee of smaller pairs before you trade.

Where MEXC is available
MEXC is not available in the United States. The user agreement lists the United States among countries where MEXC does not provide services or accept registrations, without exceptions for any state, and its restricted-countries page says the same. The list also includes Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Mainland China, among others. The two pages show differences regarding Malaysia and Kazakhstan, so verify both if you reside there.
Residents of the US can use Coinbase, available throughout all US states, and Kraken, except for New York and Maine. Our list of exchanges for US customers provides further options.
Account verification and limits
According to MEXC's help center, users must complete KYC to access its services. Primary verification requires an identity document photo, while Advanced verification includes facial recognition. Following Primary verification, crypto withdrawals are capped at 80 BTC daily, and 200 BTC after Advanced verification. P2P fiat trading is limited to $20,000 a day at the Advanced level.
Security and proof of reserves
On security, the MEXC exchange publishes a monthly proof of reserves, using a Merkle tree structure and supported by an audit report from Hacken. In the latest snapshot, reserves exceeded user balances in USDT, USDC, BTC, and ETH. User accounts support two-factor authentication, and both the Guardian Fund and the futures insurance fund are MEXC's own funds, not forms of deposit insurance.
Licensing and regulatory notices
MEXC does not name a licence on its About page, in its user agreement or on its Proof of Trust page. The Seychelles Financial Services Authority identifies MX Global Ltd, a Seychelles company, as MEXC's operator. In May 2026, it announced enforcement action against the company for operating without a licence in Seychelles. Regulators in several other markets have published notices that MEXC is not licensed or registered there: the Dutch AFM, whose decision put MEXC on the European Securities and Markets Authority's list of non-compliant providers under MiCAR; BaFin, the German financial regulator; and the Ontario Securities Commission. Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission has listed MEXC on its alert list since 2024.

One of my favorite exchanges at the moment, have been using MEXC for over 1 year now and cant complain, their 0% fees on many tokens is really a nice way to bring users. Well at least it worked on me :D
MEXC has quickly become my go-to exchange because of the sheer number of coins they support and the fact that spot trading is commission-free. I really appreciate the advanced features like grid trading and bot support, which help me automate strategies and take advantage of market moves. The interface feels geared toward more experienced users and takes some time to learn, but once you do it's very powerful. Overall, it's a solid platform for traders who want low fees and lots of trading options.
Not gonna lie, started using MEXC over the past 12 months and started to like the UI more and more over time! Like the trading UI / leverage functionalities more than Binance or Bybit.
Best non KYC exchange out there with a high deposit + withdrawal amount 💪
Honestly, this is one of my favorite exchanges. They have 0% trading fees several times in a year for spot and future trading. Never had an issue even when trading with in the low to mid 6 figures
I have been a MEXC user for over 3 years now. Some bad reviews here seem to be people who got rekt for being bad traders. The platform is fast and responsive and has many pairs. Great for anyone to build their crypto portfolio.
