Our Review

In our view, WEEX is a strong platform for active traders: 1,173 crypto assets, 1,022 perpetual futures contracts with up to 400x leverage, copy trading and a flat 0.10% spot fee at the entry tier. A 1,000 BTC protection fund and proof-of-reserves snapshots add transparency; WEEX names no license and suits experienced traders more than beginners.

WEEX
User Reviews

Coinbase is a US-listed exchange accessible to residents in every US state, with regulatory licenses in the US, Luxembourg, and the UK. In our view it is a good place for a first crypto purchase, with a simple app and a regulated operator. Active traders can pay less: we would compare Kraken Pro first, whose entry-level taker fee is 0.80%, against 0.90% on Coinbase Advanced in the US.

Coinbase lists more than 400 cryptocurrencies and operates from the USA. Overall score: 8.3/10. Known for: very easy to use.

Platform Overview

WEEX launched in 2018 and has since built a platform targeting active traders who want flexibility and selection. The exchange lists over 1,100 cryptocurrencies across more than 1,600 spot trading pairs, tokenized stocks included. Perpetual futures contracts are available with leverage up to 400x, placing WEEX among the highest leverage offerings in the industry. The platform keeps a 1,000 BTC protection fund in a public Bitcoin address.

Coinbase operates from the USA with more than 400 cryptocurrencies available for trading. The platform emphasizes very easy to use. Users have noted: slightly higher fees.

Trading Features and Tools

WEEX provides spot trading and perpetual futures. The futures offering includes more than 1,000 contracts with leverage settings from 1x to 400x. Copy trading allows users to automatically replicate trades from other traders on the platform, which can be useful for beginners learning market dynamics, although it copies losses as well as gains. The charting interface integrates TradingView with 100+ technical indicators. Mobile apps are available for iOS (4.6/5 rating) and Android (3.9/5 rating).

Coinbase offers more than 400 cryptocurrencies. The platform prioritizes accessibility with a simple interface. Advanced trading tools are limited compared to dedicated trading platforms. Additional strength: beginner friendly.

Fee Structure Breakdown

WEEX spot trading fees run 0.10% for makers and 0.10% for takers. Futures fees are 0.02% maker and 0.08% taker. Holding WXT can qualify you for lower VIP fee levels, from VIP 1 at 5,000 WXT. Deposits are free (network fees apply). Withdrawal fees vary by cryptocurrency; a Bitcoin withdrawal costs 0.00016 BTC.

Coinbase's fee structure varies by account tier and trading volume. Note: slightly higher fees.

Account Verification and Privacy

WEEX accounts open with an email address or phone number. WEEX requires identity verification for certain products and account circumstances, for example before P2P trading or Auto Earn, and its daily withdrawal limits depend on your VIP level and on whether you have completed basic or advanced verification.

Coinbase's verification requirements depend on the services accessed and withdrawal limits needed.

Security and Regulatory Standing

WEEX is registered as a money services business (MSB) with FinCEN in the United States and with FINTRAC in Canada; these are registrations, not licenses. Its terms of use nevertheless exclude users in both countries. The 1,000 BTC protection fund provides a security buffer for users. The platform employs standard security measures: two-factor authentication via SMS or Google Authenticator, cold storage for the majority of assets, and withdrawal address whitelisting. WEEX publishes proof-of-reserves snapshots but names no auditor.

Coinbase operates as a recognized player with solid industry standing.

Who Should Choose Which Platform

WEEX suits traders who want a large cryptocurrency selection (1,100+ coins), high leverage options (up to 400x) and copy trading functionality.

Coinbase suits users who prioritize ease of use over trading power. The simpler interface reduces learning curve at the cost of advanced features. Good for those making occasional trades rather than active trading. Score: 8.3/10.
